The largest airport in terms of area, 1,977 acres worth of land, Ho Chi Minh City airport is indeed Vietnam's biggest international airport. Officially, Ho Chi Minh City airport is known as 'Tan - Son - Nhat international airport', and is located just 6 kilometers north to District 1, the city's center.
Currently the airport manages with two terminal buildings. One reserved for Domestic flights, while the other for International flights. The latter, new international terminal, was opened in 2007 to extend Ho Chi Minh city airport' coverage area. This was primarily done to manage the large number of passengers travelling via the airport. According to the data, annually about 8 to 10 million passengers pass through the airport.
