Great activities to do in Road Town
You can never lack something fun to do while in the British Virgin Islands. From snorkeling at the shores to sampling some of the locally made cuisines, there will always be that one thing that will give you good memories of your trip.
- Rhone National Marine Park - the clear blue waters will capture your eye and raise the urge to get into a snorkeling suit and dive into the sea. Within the marine park is the wreck of the HMS Rhone which was sunk during a hurricane storm; thus the park is named after the ship.
- North Shore Shell Museum - this museum serves as an educational site and one can still have a dive in the ocean. The owner is quite a cheerful person who has helped rehabilitate the museum with the help of neighborhood children. There is a beautiful clutter of shell displayed for the public. If you really want a unique experience you haven’t had in any of your worldly tours, the North Shore Shell Museum will give you just that.
- Smith’s Ferry - this ferry transports tourist to other mini islands within the Virgin territory. On a day that is sunny enough to enjoy the sea, drive down to the harbor and book the afternoon tour. You can take a trip to any of the virgin islands like the Gorda to view the Copper mines
- Smuggler’s Cove - on a typical day, the smuggler’s cove is filled with activities like snorkeling, scuba diving or just a swim in the cool waters. The road to the cove is a bit raggedy so you will need a car hire that can hack through the terrain. When there are no major activities happening there, the locals erect a beach bar by the shore and serves the best chilled drinks.
Tortola is a beautiful place to be with the best coastal climate and a host of activities for the avid tourist.
