Kuching airport was constructed to serve the Sarawak area of Malaysia. Both the local and international flights operate mostly in the southern part. This airstrip is also 11km from the main town. Here is the best part, to access the park you have to go by boat through the majestic Santubong River.

- The Astana - located adjacent to the gracious River Sarawak, Astana is a Palace where the Governor of Sarawak resides. Besides the beautiful location next to a river, the palace is also a marvel to look at thanks to its artistic design.
- Fort Margheritta - the forte dates way back to the 18 century, when it was constructed by Charles Brooke who was then a Rajah of Sarawak. Today it stands as a monumental landmark which commemorates the long history of the Brooke dynasty.
- Kuching Cat Museum - this is the first museum in the world you will ever see that only showcases artifacts, photos and documentaries about cats. The images are captured from different cats all over the world and even the statue decorating the museum are that of cats.
