La Paz Airport is an international airport located in the south western region of La Paz in Bolivia, it is the highest located international airport and caters a large amount of commercial and passenger traffic. Recently this airport has undergone revamping and a new extended runway has been built along with additional facilities being introduced for all the terminals. Experience the triple peaked mountain
La Paz is known for the rare view of the triple peaked snow covered mountain which is one of the most beautiful natural occurrences in the region.b Other attractions in the city include:
- Museo Costumbrista – This museum is closest to La Paz Airport and you would easily get a car hire to drop you at its entrance. Tis unique museum has thousands of ceramic dolls that are wearing traditional costumes to represent the history and progress of the Bolivian culture.
- Museum of Archeology - This museum focuses on the ancient pre-Columbian culture and displays the last remnants of the same.
- Gold Museum – This museum will give you a glimpse of the prosperity of this region before the invasions. There are many utensils and ornaments of pure gold at display here. This museum is also well represented via large picture at La Paz Airport.
- Folklore Museum – If you are interested in ancient stories and beliefs than a visit to the Folklore museum is a must on your next trip to La Paz. This museum is relatively far off from the city and you would need a car hire to reach the same.
- Witches Market – This is by far the most mysterious and interesting place I visited in La Paz. Although I do not believe in witch craft I still could not resist trying some of the ancient herbs said to have magical properties.
- Art Museum - This museum has multiple exhibits that contain replicas of world famous paintings and also houses the work of the greatest Bolivian artists of all time. You can also buy memorabilia pertaining to the Art museum from La Paz Airport as well.
Bolivia has always been a mysterious land shrouded by myths and a visit to La Paz would allow you to appreciate the natural beauty and rich culture of Bolivia.
