The Best Airports in the World: Asia Edition

We have listed down the worst airports in the world, but how do we know that they, well, suck if we do not know what great airports are made of? Here is a list of the best Asian airports, as voted by travellers from different corners of the world.

If you would like to read our article of the best European airports you can read it here.

Changi Airport in Singapore

This airport, located in the small, city-sized country of Singapore, has been consistently ranked as the best airport in the world. Aside from the airport being efficient, well-maintained, and well-designed, the Changi staff is friendly and quietly efficient, providing passengers with a pleasant time waiting, as well as arriving and boarding their flights. Plenty of leisure amenities too (as well as exciting food choices)—no wonder thousands of passengers have voted Changi as their favourite airport in Asia, if not the world.

Incheon International Airport in Seoul, South Korea

There is no doubt that Incheon International Airport in the South Korean capital is visually striking—the futuristic architecture embodies the fast-rising East Asian nation. If you want to fly in or out of an airport with private sleeping rooms, an ice rink to get a couple of graceful twirls in, a casino to while the wait away, a golf course, lush indoor gardens, or know more about local culture and history through the Museum of Korean Culture, then Incheon International is just for you.

Beijing Capital International in Beijing, China

Beijing Capital International (also known as PEK), is one of the busiest airports in the world, servicing millions of passengers on a regular basis. It is also one of the best airports in the continent, an amazing feat since it only opened its doors in 2008. Expansion comes not at the expense of the quality of products and services, and if ever you find yourself in China or nearby countries, make sure to schedule your flight in this airport

Hong Kong International Airport in Hong Kong

Hong Kong is one of those charming places in the Far East that exhibits the perfect harmony between occidental and oriental cultures. The international airport of this Chinese territory is consistently voted as one of the best airports in the world. Wi-Fi is free, there are countless restaurants and cafés to choose from, and there are plenty of services for passengers traveling for business, such as digital printing, faxing, charging stations for mobile phones and laptops, and photocopying. The Automated People Mover is an innovation tired and weary travellers are grateful for. You can easily get to different terminals through an automatic (read: driverless) train system, which departs every two minutes or so.

Tokyo International Airport (Haneda) in Tokyo, Japan

Tokyo might be a city of controlled chaos to Western visitors, but their airport is anything but. Quiet efficiency is what the Tokyo International Airport aims for—and it is exactly what it provides its passengers. When it comes to cleanliness, Haneda is inarguably on the top of the list, but the airport is also home to a gourmet rooftop restaurant, six-story shopping mall, the Haneda Excel Hotel Tokyu, conference rooms, and a whole lot more to sweeten your experience in the airport.
