Ideally, you should get to know the buses found outside of the Rome airport. You can buy daily passes or three-day passes for them in order to get to the main destinations without the expensive cost of a cab. You can basically get off wherever you need to and just catch another one again later going the same way. While this might seem very touristy, it is well worth the money since you will be able to save time from walking around the city after you get out of the Rome airport.

The Rome Pantheon

Sometimes called the temple of the gods or the church of Mary and the martyrs, the Rome Pantheon was originally a pagan church when it was built in 125 AD. Ever since then, it has been in constant use, yet is still very well-preserved overall. The main reason why it has survived for so long, though, is because the Pope consecrated it to be a Catholic church in 609. Definitely an architectural marvel worth seeing!

The Coliseum

One of the most iconic sites in Rome, the Coliseum has guides available that can help you through long lines and tour you around the place. While a lot of pieces from the Coliseum's interior have already been torn out for use on other Roman buildings throughout the centuries, it is still as stunning as it used to be, if not more.

Not only do these churches look magnificent from the outside, but the insides are usually filled with stunning artwork by master artists, as well. The best part is that the entrance to these churches are usually free. So, make sure you get on a bus and visit as many of them as you can before you have to go back to the Rome airport and fly back home.
